:: Notes

In this, our third CD for Delos, the BGQ once again explores the little-know world of Brazilian music through transcriptions of works by some of its most representatives composers. Aside from revisiting the output of Francisco Mignone (1897-1986) and Camargo Guarnieri (1907-1993), included on the Delos CD Essência do Brasil (DE 3245), we have recorded on this CD works by the romantic composer Henrique Oswald (1852-1931), as well as Cláudio Santoro (1919-1989) and Ronaldo Miranda (b. 1948), the major sucessors to the three great 20th century Brazilian nationalist composers Heitor Villa-Lobos, Mignone, and Guarnieri.
